My name is Ady, but all of my friends (and nieces) call me Mapes and my boyfriend’s name is James, but you can all call him Mutt 😉 He and I welcome you to our Tiny House Blog! Mutt and I are building a, truck bed camper style, Tiny House and are excited to use this blog to keep our families and friends in the loop about our progress! We look forward to sharing our experiences and pictures, successes and lessons learned with you as we travel through this journey! So, welcome to our page, and hold on to your hats!
A little bit about Mutt and I. We are both originally from the East Coast now living in Colorado. We came together over our love for excitement, the outdoors, travel, and music. Our relationship has always been about finding the next adventure, dreaming big, and working hard to live the life we want to create. We enjoy traveling in Mutt’s custom built 2001 VW Eurovan, cargo turned camper! Winnie as we call her, has been our vessel for following our favorite band, The String Cheese Incident, to different music festivals and venues all across this beautiful country! When we’re not riding around the US selling Mutt’s handmade, music based merchandise (shout out to Mutt Stitches, for all of your heady needs!), we enjoy calling Colorado home. We currently live in a Denver suburb where I work at a Brew Pub (BIG shout out to Mountain Sun and the Vine Street Pub!!) and Mutt now spends his days working tirelessly on Our House.
I love the mantra; work hard, play harder! with that in mind we always find time to do the extracurricular activities we love the most! Like, spending time in the Rockies with our 8 year old Lab/Hound, Trey, and participating in all kinds of outdoor activities. Camping, skiing/boarding, and HOT SPRING SOAKING, are just a few of our very favorites!
We hope you enjoy following along as we make this dream a reality. We are using this winter to gather materials. Craigslist has been a major resource in finding recycled and waste building materials to construct our home. We have already acquired the Truck, Bertha, and have a good start to our supply collection. As we gather more materials and start on construction I’ll keep you posted with pictures and updates!
We are so grateful for all of the love and support we have already received on this project both from our families and the strangers turned friends we’ve met along the way. This would not be possible without you!! Mutt and I are forever grateful to you! Peace. Love and Tiny House Building!
